Tentative Study On Urban Planning Based On Self-organization Theory

Urban planning is a plan for all the elements of a city system during a long time. It is a whole consideration for the city design and the basis of the management of the city construction. Urban planning is a huge and dynamic system, contains master plan,detail plan,city district plan and so on. The important problem which urban planning faces is: systematic and numerical methods is lack, especially when the city system is being more and more complex. Since the self-organization theory is a new method to solve the problem of the complex and huge system, combining the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis and its application it systematically can promote the process of urban planning.So, the main researches in this thesis are listed as below:1. Briefly introduce the self-organization theory and analyze the relations between the self-organization theory; and then, on the base of it, set forth the enlightenments to the urban planning, put forward that the city system is a self-organized system, the process of the city development is self-organized.2. The constitution of the urban planning,the real function of the master planning and the type of the evaluation of urban planning are introduced, and then, based on the self-organization theory, put forward the index system to evaluate the project of the master plan and a model for it.3. Master plans of modern Nanjing, which include capital plan,master plan of Nanjing(1991-2010)and master plan of Nanjing(2000-2020)are introduced and analyzed by using the index system and the model. At last, evaluations are set forth.
