During the operation of coal-fried utility boiler, the interior surfaces inevitably encounter fouling problems.Sootblowing is an effective method to clean fouling. Study on fouling monitoring and sootblowing optimization can direct the workers to operate sootblowing system correctly so as to make the boiler in most economical condition. Center the task,This papers lucubrate the application of fouling monitoring and sootblowing optimization.According to the causation,modality and characteristic of different fouling in different parts,this papers studied on the real-time fouling monitoring methods.Use a modified comprehensive monitoring index I foulingwhich educed from the furnace exit temperature to monitor the furnace's fouling.Use cleanliness factor(CF) which can be calculated according to the dynamic fouling monitoring model based on the heat balance theory to monitor the convective surfaces's fouling.Use a fouling relevant index which educed from the difference of flue gas pressure to monitor the air-heater's fouling.To make things comprehensible,use CF to monitor all the parts's fouling in application,but CF have different definition in different monitoring model.Based on fouling monitoring of boiler,this papers studied on some methods which can be used to determine sootblowing schedule,include following:method based on minimal cleanliness factor to determine sootblowing schedule,method base on the principle of minimal total heat loss caused by fouling and sootblowing to determine sootblowing period,method base on the principle of maximal heat income caused by sootblowing to determine sootblowing period,method based on the principle of minimal consumed heat rate of unit to determine sootblowing period, method based on the principle of safety first to determine sootblowing schedule.Using all the above methods together can determine the correct schedule,so the operation of sootblowing system is optimized.Based on the above theories,this papers studied how to design the software of sootblowing optimization system and some instances of the system'application.The sootblowing optimization and management system, as a subsystem of the unit warp and performance optimization system of Datang Power Generation co.Ltd, have been applied and praised by users.
