The BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber is the elastic magnetic material, which is manufactured by BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic powder, NBR (acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber) and a small amount of accelerator by process of milling and vulcaninzation. The BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR is not only NBR characteristic but also BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic powder characteristic. So the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR can replace NBR completely in the application of petrochemical industry. The aim of this paper is to illustrate the mechanism of the friction and wear by investigating the manufacture, structure and properties of the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR in order to obtain the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR with improved properties. And it researched the mechanism of the seal up for the rubber use to O type sealing ring.The topics studied a serious of factors such as the magnetic powder type, the type of rubber, and magnetic content and variety of accelerator etc. Experimental use BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic powder and use NBR for the substrate in order to manufacture BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR by means of milling and vulcaninzation follows GB[46].It contrasted for different BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic powder content of the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR materials tensile strength, ultimate elongation, hardness mechanical properties by GB[4748] standards with the corresponding test methods of preparation of the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR mechanical properties. And it given the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR material corresponding curve clarify the magnetic powder content of the NBR mechanical properties of the law.It examine the properties of different BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic powder content of the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR materials properties of magnetic materials performance. And according to GB[49] for the preparation of BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR magnetic properties of the test, measuring the intensity of the magnetic field strength changes value respectively, and draw saturation hysteresis loop obtained corresponding sense remnant magnetization, coercivity, maximum energy product and intrinsic coercivity. The experiments also demonstrated that the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR from the magnetic properties that added BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic powder volume decisions.It used UTM friction and wear test machine and 2,206 surface roughness measuring instrument measure the containing of BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic powdervolume of different BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR material friction and wear test. The results showed that the addition of magnetic powder can reduce friction coefficient and improve wear resistance, but with magnetic susceptibility, coefficient increased with the addition of magnetic friction. According to the test results, it amended friction theory of magnetic NBR.By means of BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR test, It amended the O-ring seal theory that O-ring seal made of the BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR material. From the revised theory can be seen that BaO·6Fe2O3 magnetic NBR O-ring has improved seal stability and security than with ordinary rubber O-ring.
