The trend of today's power system is expansion of networks and interlink of local area networks, and the performance of power system is more and more difficult. The increasingly complexity of power system requires higher demand to fault recorder which is as necessary tool as power system fault analysis. The emergence of high-speed DSP and high-speed Ethernet communication technology provides necessary condition for improving the performance of fault recorders. A high performance device of generator and transform group based on technology above is designed and implemented in this paper and it expatiated in detail structure and function of the hardware and software of the device. The device has three modules whose functions are data acquisition, data processing and data transmission. The device has merits of many monitoring channels, high sample frequency, good real-time and big capacity of data storage.
