Urban public transport transfer junction is the important composition of the passenger transport system, it ties to joint various urban passenger traffic modes, it is the guarantee of the city transport priority. In view of the weak points of existing theories and methods of planning and design, by means of combining theoretical analysis of domestic and foreign developing experience, the study includes four aspects: planning and layout, forecasting passenger, scale of distributing facilities and evaluation method of transfer effectiveness.Firstly, we discuss the junction's classification, grade and the selected location influence factors. After analyzed the present commonly selected location methods, a new two-stage selected location measure is proposed through full considering quantitative and qualitative influence factors.Secondly, we analyze the affected zones, reasonable walking areas and reasonable traffic area of public transport hub on the basis of affecting factors analysis, a three-stage flows forecast method is proposed through seeming the transfer hub as a virtual area. Then we introduce the calculative method of the facility sizes of transfer station category and distributed category and channel type by the use of space-time theory and consumption associated and the norms of urban public transport hub. All are based on the analysis of the distribution hub and demand analysis.Finally, the transfer hub's evaluation index system is established by analyzing appraisal indexes. After comparative analysis evaluation system of AHP, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, gray correlation and data envelopment analysis, a combination of methods to evaluate the efficiency of transfer hub for comprehensive evaluation is put forward.
