Applied Study On Tourism Environmental Capacity In The Eco-tourism Planning

Tourism environmental capacity is the most disputant problem in tourism studying until now. It is also one of the important problems without final conclusion. Its difficulty in studying and applying is not only in explaining tourism environmental capacity in theory but also in how truly applying it to tourism planning and management. The practical value of tourism environmental capacity manifests in two sides: one is to protect the environment of the tourism districts as a strong tool in tourism planning and management; the other is to objectively guarantee tourists' quality of experience as a tool of management, emphasizing security and comfort. But at present, there exists misunderstanding of Eco-tourism. According to above, in this dissertation the author tries to make a study on tourism environmental capacity, illustrated by the Eco-tourism district of the South Area of Tai bai Mountain, using the method of theory combining with practice, and wishes to further consummate the theory system of Eco-tourism and tourism environmental capacity and to be realistic directive significance to the Eco-tourism district of the South Area of Tai bai Mountain and other similar tourism districts.This dissertation consists of six parts. Based on the review of the situation of tourism development in China in recent years, in exordium the author discusses the importance of tourism environmental capacity in Eco-tourism exploitation and puts forward the structure and writing method. In the part of basic theory research, author explains tourism environmental capacity and Eco-tourism from different angles, and proposes own opinions of definition, structure, characteristics and rationales of tourism environmental capacity and the connotation, rationales, principles and criterion of Eco-tourism. In the part of analysis research, the author mainly discusses the influence factors and the misgivings of the existing computational methods of tourism environmental capacity and attempts to differentiate tourism environmental capacity of different districts. In the part of applied research, the author basing on the theory research and analysis research, analyses its calculate method of tourism environmental capacity, illustrated by the Eco-tourism district of the South Area of Tai bai Mountain, proposes some management measures and wishes to have model significance to other Eco-tourism planning.
