Dynamic optimize design on computer is the key of high quality, fast and low cost developing of the body of automobile. The technology of CAD and CAD/CAE integration of coach is discussed in this paper for high quality, fast and low cost developing. The discuss include following aspects.For dynamic optimize design on computer, a numeric model of body of automobile should be got. We Took 6125 as an example, by analysis and experiment, according to the procedure and manufacturing of enterprise, divided the coach into six parts ,then to build up six sub-model and gather into the whole car model with FEM.In the paper, similarity theory be discussed and used in coach design, choose the character factors of coaches and figured out the value of their weight, then built a methodology to choose a reference coach in the new type coach design.Combine the theory of similarity with the methodology of modular design to design the coach body. We used 6125 as an example to divide the coach body as modular components, and set up a modular store of coach body which can be used in the new type coach design.Made use of the method of object-orient to set up the coach body database. Save the coach model into database, used the theory of similarity, it can be the reference while develop the new coach, it can raise the development efficiency.Thereby the result confirmed that use the theory of similarity and methodology of modular in the coach design was very useful. It can cut down the time in design and reduce the cost.
