Based on the domestic longest-span low-pylon cable-stayed bridge underconstruction-Shawan bridge, this thesis builds up the finite element models ofpier-girder rigid connection and pier-girder hinged connection through changing pier-girder connection form by using a finite element software called MIDAS/CIVIL 2006 to analyse and study the static behaviors, dynamic behaviors and stability of two types of the bridge.Firstly, the development, structural systems and structural performance of low-pylon cable-stayed bridge are presented. Then, the structural behaviors and deflection of the two types of structural systems under the loads of construction stage and operation stage are discussed. The loads include dead load, live load, temperature load, wind load and various types of combination of these loads. And the influence of time-dependent effect on the performance of the two types of systems is analysed. Finally, the seismic response characteristic is calculated and analysed by means of the response spectrum analysis and the time history analysis. Besides, the elastic stability of two types of the bridge is calculated and anaylsed.Therefore, the structural behaviors and differences of low-pylon cable-stayed bridges with pier-girder rigid connection and pier-girder hinged connection are roundly understood.
