The short-pylon cable-stayed bridge is one kind of newly developed bridge structure in recent 20 years, it has the structural characteristics both of the cable-stayed bridge and the continuous girder bridge. The earthquake-resistant capacity of thses bridges is one of key factors in design.Based on a multi- short-pylon cable-stayed bridge ------The Jinglan Bridge, and using structural analysis program Midas/Civil 2006, the seismic response analysis is carried on in this thesis by adopting spectrum analysis and dynamic time-history analysis methods. Also, the dynamic behaviour of a multi- short-pylon cable-stayed bridge is analyzed.Taking the seismic response spectrum in design standard as the inputs of spectrum curve, the response of the bridge was calculated. And then, the general rules of seismic response of structure under waves in longitudinal, transverse, vertical direction and their combination are obtained. The response of the bridge under El-Centro wave is calculated. On the comparison of results of dynamic time history analysis and response spectrum method, the influence on the structure is presented as conclusion. Meanwhile, the influence of traveling wave effect and pile-soil-structure interaction on dynamic property is analyzed. An imaginary continuous beam bridge is constructed to analyze the dynamic behaviour influence of tower and cable on the structure. Meanwhile, the dynamic behaviour influence of a short-pylon cable-stayed bridge with different tower shape and span number is obtained.
