With fast development of the high-speed coach and the heavy-load freight car, there is of higher degree requirement for reliability and security of train braking system. In history, the accidents of brake failure created large loss for life and property. With the development of computer detection technology, installing the real-time detection devices on the braking system is an effective technological measure to make the braking system work normally. The detecting and diagnosing device can give warns when the braking system brake down, and provide data basis for attendants to solve problems, therefore enhance efficiency of field processing. In addition, because of the unrepeatable braking failures, which occur during train running, the train maintenance is more difficult when the train go back to vehicle department. So this paper researches on the vehicle braking detector, which is used to monitor the work of the brake on real time during the train running. The designed detector can store mass mount of data, process the detected data and give warning. It has positive effect on traffic safety and can enhance vehicle maintenance technology.Because of specialization of train's application, the vehicles may run through several days from start station to destination and return to original station. In order to monitor the working status of the brake during the whole running procedure, large-capacity storage must be solved firstly. What's more, considered a good human-machine interface, the embedded microprocessor S3C2410X base on ARM9 is chosen at last. The whole device is three-layer superimposed structure. The top layer is LCD, which displays state information of braking system and provides good human-machine interface. The second layer is CPU module, which functions are collecting, processing, diagnosing and storing. The last layer is signal-conditioning module, which realizes signal amplification and filtering. The corresponding circuits are also designed and made, which consist of CPU core module, LCD&TSP interface, SD interface, UART interface, power conversion module, signal conditioning module and collecting module etc.Based onμC/OS-II real-time embedded operation system, the relative software is designed, including the functional modules. After the whole design is finished, brake failure simulation tests are made with the help of single-test platform for the brake in the laboratory. The results show that the device can record the pressure changes of the brake during differential working situations, and display warning information on LCD. The designed vehicle brake detection device is reasonable and feasible.
