Damage Analysis Of Stone Arch Bridge And Study On Its Maintenance And Strengthening Method

Now the stone arch bridges in our country are commonly short of carrying capacity .A lot of stone arch bridges have been damaged over the days, especially in the region underdevelopment. The task that how to improve bridge's carrying capacity and traffic capacity by maintenance and strengthening is so pressing. It can satisfy the economic development much better. Such problems as following are studied in this paper :The common damage and its reasons of stone arch bridges are systemically analyzed combined with Pingchang Yangtiangou Bridge and Shuangliu Tongji Bridge in the thesis. Their actually carrying capacity and damage condition are evaluated, which can provide technology data for the strengthening and maintenance.The common strengthening methods are summarized. Both superstructure and infrastructure strengthening methods and construction technology are concluded based on the analysis of strengthening principle. Different strengthening method has different range of applicability. It depends on the damage of the bridge,the structure,the conditions of itself and the functional request of the bridge after strengthening. The strengthening methods of Yangtiangou Bridge and Tongji Bridge are introduced, of which has some value to the later similar works.Through the assessment and the appropriate strengthening, the bridge's carrying capacity and traffic capacity can be improved .It can service the society much better because of the very significance for the highway traffic development in our country .
