| In the last ten years, embedded system is developed rapidly and it is applied more widely, especially in handle devices, industrial automation, information appliance etc. With the wide use of Embedded System, it becomes popular to connect the embedded device with Internet,μThis paper introduces 32-bit micro processor into practical product development of the Corp. Midea home dishwasher. Embedded operating system is adopted as software design platform, thus provides a new type of embedded system intelligent terminal with Ethernet interface. The system is available for remote monitoring besides general operation.The paper firstly investigates the development and research of the world's embedded systems and introduces the application of Ethernet in Information Appliance. Then, it presents a scheme, which is composed of 32-bit microprocessor and embedded operating system.In hardware design, the microprocessor S3C44B0 comprising 32-bit ARM core is adopted in order to improve the ability of data processing and to achieve TCP/IP stack. So the hardware source and reliability is enhanced. In software design, based on the success of transplanting uClinux on S3C44B0, GUI, TCP/IP, file system is explanted.Based on in-depth acknowledge of the dishwasher, it introduces the hardware architecture of the system, including CPU, FLASH ROM, RAM ,network, serial and etc. Finally, the EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) of the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is analyzed.In the end, the essential function of remote terminal unit applied in measuring parameters is implemented. The system can communicate through Ethernet. Actual result illustrates the system has better reliability and real-time character. The design requirement is satisfied.Hardware structure design is focused on, for it is the author's main responsibility in the project. The paper proposes a benefit concept of method and reference for the design of the information appliance.
