The migration and re-construction of villages in Yunnan, as under the social background of West Development, south-west hydro electric station construction, aid-the-poor programme, and urbanization, is an extremely large project especially in the number of villages re-constructed, the population moved and the costs needed. The project involves subtle relations among interests of different parts, and the adjustment and assimilation of social relations is also a complicated and slow process. Whether the re-construction process goes smoothly, and whether the problem of peaceful settlement and making fortunes are solved, should be the measurement of success of the village migration and re-construction. However, according to the author's investigation and research, there still exist various problems during the migration and re-construction of villages, which cannot be ignored and to which great attention has to be paid.The paper makes a research and comparison of five examples of village migration and re-construction having been completed or being under construction, trying to summarize the experience and the problems on the layer of technology, and to find out the reasons and provide explanations from angles of sociology. As pointed out in the paper, power and capital is the leading line in the process of re-construction, and technology service is the sub-line. Furthermore, the roles of the several aspects involved (government, enterprises, residents, building designers, village committee, etc.) are discussed and located, with the final principle part of residents affirmed after an exploration of the internal meanings of "principle part", "initiative", and "leading force". A concept of role triangle and interest triangle is put forward to help balance the relationship among the parties to the migration and re-construction, with the motive power mechanism for re-construction process provided. On this basis, a construction model of "multi-lateral interaction" is advanced, in which "interaction" means correlated interactions under the willingness of principle part and willingness of initiative, with its emphasis on a cooperation under role identification and role differences and with its essence being wide participation. Finally, from a practical point of view, the implementation of the "multi-lateral interaction" construction model is elaborated, with several elements discussed such as the tasks and working methods of the architect.
