The nuclear spectrometry survey is an indispensiable tool, no matter is used in basic subjects such as nuclear physics and radiation dosimetry research, or the nuclear technology in each domain of the national economy application. Especially in the recent several decades, as the high-perfermance spectrometer appeared and unceasingly developed, and computer was widely used, the survey and the analysis level of the spectrometry was largely enhanced. Therefore, it obtained a more rapid development in each domain of application. This paper mainly introduces the design of a new spectrometer. The system consists of nuclear signal processing circuit, spectrometry data acquisition circuit and application software. Nuclear signal processing circuit mainly includes linear amplifier and pulse shaped-circuit. The spectrometry data acquisition circuit is controlled by ARM S3C2410, including 1024-channel pulse-height analyzer. To enhance the instrument's performance, we add USB interface, LCD, touch screen and the applied software in system. In this paper, we bring in embedded operating system named Linux to make full use of the source of ARM and manage the tasks orderly. All the programs are based on Linux and wrote in C language, which make it easier to port the software to other controllers. The application software is mainly spectrometry data-processing one.
