This paper regards eight swirling burner devices of power plant 330MW aircrew as the target, firstly analyzing the possibility of applying the plasma ignition technology to swirling burner. Through calculation and test, the coal powder parameter is determined to satisfy the requirement of plasma ignition. Then study is made on how to enhance the previous swirling burner in order to satisfy the plasma ignition requirement. Calculation is made on the required fuel quantity for boiler cold start-up. Calculation is made on the first wind temperature required for the start-up of coal mill after the enhancement of load change. The quantity and distribution of burner are determined and the timing of input of plasma ignition is also determined. The ancillary systems of plasma ignition are also involved in this paper.
