The coal boiler start-up ignition, low-load stable-combustion and shut down of fuel consumption are the critical parts of generating cost of power plants. In order to reduce the generating cost and to enhance the economic efficiency of the unit, the development of the new style of oil-saving ignition technology is full of significance.Through comparing several normal oil-saving ignition technologies of the coal boiler, combining actual circumstance of 600MW thermal unit boiler of Huozhou power plant, it was established using advanced technology at present, better economy of plasma ignition technology as the ignition and stable-combustion mode of the boiler. Igniting coal directly by plasma ignition technology significantly reduces fuel consumption and cost of power generation. Meanwhile, it eliminates security risks due to the original fuel system leak occurred frequently fire, equipment damage and reduces the amount of operation maintenance. In addition, it eliminates the accidents of carbon deposition on ash electrode as a result of mixed kerosene &coal burning. In a word, it has significant economic benefits, environmental benefits and social benefits.In this paper, the composition of plasma ignition system, ignition technology principles are detailed described. On this basis, the plasma ignition device of 600MW unit boiler of Huozhou power plant is designed, including the ignition system design and auxiliary system design. And pulverized coal and hot air sources of the plasma ignition are solved. By comparing the plasma ignition technology and conventional ignition technology, micro-oil ignition technology in the trial operation period and during normal operation of cost, the economy of the plasma ignition system is analysis. And its influencing factors such as coal price, oil price are analysis. The economy of plasma ignition transformation on Huozhou plant is comprehensive described.
