| The visual perception of holistic is one orientation of the development of automobile form. Louis Femoshrank, the chief designer of Pinfarina Corporation has ever said:"Automobile design not only emphasizes the partial design, such as the light, the front face, the tail, but also emphasizes the aesthetic perception of holistic."Explaining from holism that the Gestalt psychology emphasizes, the aesthetic feeling of holistic from visual perception of automobile form are the emotions which are formed by the special relations of shape elements directly. And the emotions are not relevant to other exotic concepts. Facing the auto from many brands and types whose shape elements is complex, how do our visual perception organize and judge these shape elements and form a visual perception of whole at last.The Gestalt psychology as the basic theories and the form of automobile front face as the object of research, this paper has analyzed the relations between form elements of automobile front face and researched into a problem of how these elements are organized to be"Gestalt"of automobile front face by vision. On the basis of clarity about the core thought and basic theory of Gestalt psychology, this paper analyzes the basic relation in the auto shape of front view: the relation of"figure-ground", and separates the form elements from automobile front face."Figure"and"Line"as the object of research and as the form elements appearing in the field of visual perception. Analyzing the organization relationships between the form elements of automobile front face and the image caused by special structural relationships of form elements, such as good gestalt and not good gestalt, simple gestalt and complex gestalt. Based on above analysis, clears off the organization relationships between Gestalt Laws and proposes the design approaches for enhancing the feeling of holistic, constructs the gestalt of front face of auto from image gestalt and shape gestalt, which is the Gestal of auto front face.
