The trade of wire and cable is an important industry in the economic construction of our country, it is closely related to every walk of life of national economy and even world economic development. The research and development of its equipment making technology is important to improve our industry of wire and cable.Combining with an actual lab project, a structure of two single layer network for the wire production line based on Profibus field bus technology is designed in the paper. And methods of the field network configuration, parameters setting of host and slave stations as well as data communication under STEP7 software environment. Then the wire diameter control method is discussed. To solve the control problem of wire diameter with long lag and nonlinear property in wire production lines, in this paper, a design method of optimal fuzzy PID controller with lag compensation was proposed. Based on the fuzzy PID controller design, Cohen-Coon setting formula was applied to calculate 3 best PID control parameters as initial values of the controller, and the parameters'quick self-tuning on line was implemented. Smith predictor was added to realize dynamic compensation for the lagging part. Experimental results show the ideal control effect when using the method to control wire diameter system on line.To validate the actual control effect of fuzzy PID arithmetic for material plants, the paper gives the Active X control design method of PID and fuzzy PID. Kingview software is used to realize the data communication and data change. Lastly, the control effect of PID and fuzzy PID arithmetic module is validated through the single water tank experimental device for control of liquid level process. The mathematical model is the basis of PID initial parameters choice for the arithmetic control components, and the actual liquid level control curve shows the feasibility of arithmetic module control.
