Cardiovascular disease, diabetes and malignancy are three major diseases threatening the health of humans. During the course of those disease, changes of hermorheology index has been observed. Therefore, the measurement of hermorheology is significant in early diagnoses of those diseases.Hermorheology instrument is a kind of medical apparatus for measuring hermorheology index. This project is aimed at developing a Graphic User Interface (GUI) system for an ARM based hermorheology instrument, to facilitate its control and usage. This apparatus adapts the U-shape viscosity measuring device, which can obtain more accurate results within shorter time, when compared to traditional methods. This embedded system based instrument is a minimized and automated portable apparatus, which is much more suitable for applications in middle or small sized hospital and community medical stations, than traditional apparatus based on upper-lower structure. This software is targeted to Linux operation system. It is developed using C language, and under the MiniGUI programming framework. This GUI is a friendly, full-functioning and Chinese language supported interface, including apparatus maintaining, testing configuration, hermorheology index measuring, calculation, displaying, data editing, printing and store. This paper introduces the design and implementation of the interface and function of this software, and hardware interfacing (mini Keyboard, printer, motor, valve, et al.) and relating Hardware Abstract Layer, HAL. Finally, primary test of this apparatus shows that the software function is correct, test results have good repetition rate, calculation is accurate, and the design requirement is satisfied.
