The building external wall thermal insulation coatings can reduce surface and internal surrounding excessive temperaturerise of buildings and temperature difference because of environment impact. Wide uses of the building external wall thermal insulation coatings can improve work environments and save energy.Studies and development on the building external wall thermal insulation coatings have profound significance.Appling the improved experiment method ,studies were concentrated on the basic influencing factors, the effects of refractive indices,PVC,content,particles size distribution and type of reflective materials on the heat-shielding properties were measured and discussed. And also studies the influence of PVC and functional materials on the basic principles of thermal insulation coatings. Finally the durability were measured .The experimental results showed: rational select hollow tiny particles and infrared crockery powder can improve comparatively sound insulating effect and affect the basic performances weakly; using the improved experiment method, the equilibrium temperature would be decrease by 13℃as hollow tiny particles is at the percentage of 30-40 and infrared crockery powder is added by 4 of dope gross, and affect the basic performances weakly. The spectral photometer with integrating sphere was used to determine the reflective index of coatings in regions of visible and near infrared light(0.4~1.8μm).The coatings reflects 84% of visible and near infrared light and reflects 88% of visible radiation. PVC affect the heat-insulating performance weakly, but can affect the basic performances of coatings, and 45% is the best; High refractive index white powers possess comparatively sound insulating effect. Hollow tiny particles and infrared crockery powder can improve comparatively insulating effect, but hollow tiny particles can affect the basic performances of coatings; The durability of the building external wall thermal insulation coatings is necessary to be solved.
