As a significant element of mechatronics, servo technology is widely applied in various industrial products, such as NC machine tool, industrial robot, aircraft and spacecraft, electric vehicle, household apparatus, etc. With the appearance of the high-power switch devices, digital special integrate circuit and the improvement of the control theory, the AC servo control systems have been developed extensively and rapidly. The DC motor speed regulation system will be replaced by the AC speed regulation system in the future. Modern industrial manufacturing requires more excellent performance of servo equipments. Therefore, it is quite important to study and develop an AC servo system with high performance and high reliability.Taking ATmega128L as the hardcore, an AC servo control system is designed, and the overall structure scheme is proposed in this paper. The simulation model of AC asynchronism motor vector control system is established under the MATLAB/Simulink simulation environment. The module design is applied in the model. At last, the results of simulation in the model are given. The hardware circuits including PWM filter circuit, level exchanged circuit, isolated circuit, encoder interface circuit, etc are designed. Based on the C language, the software of embedded controller is also designed, and procedure flow charts are presented.In the end, the experiments with the AC servo control systems are introduced. The modularization procedure which consists of speed loop and location loop is developed by dSPACE RTI1103 hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform. Therefore, hardware and system performance test are carried out. The results indicate that the control system can meet the design request, and it has good stability, high controlling accuracy, and well-operating capability.
