Presently, fuel cars are universally manufactured in China, and the car instruments which adapt step motor electrical digital instrument technology are designed according to characteristics of the fuel cars. If more complicated information should be added to the step motor electrical digital instrument to reflect the parameters of hybrid vehicle, especially reflect the parameters of engine operation, it is difficult to guarantee the degree of being visible, the real-time processing and stability.This study was undertaken to design a display for hybrid vehicle based on TMS320F2812 DSP supported by TI, CAN bus and the terminal is an intelligent chromatic liquid crystal display. Hybrid vehicle display system mainly consists of special power supply module, CAN bus module, TMS320F2812 digital processor, MAX232 level convert module and YD711 intelligent chromatic liquid crystal display. Special power supply chip is used for supplying stable power for digital processor; CAN bus is responsible for transmitting data needed by display system to the digital processor TMS320F2812 DSP. TMS320F2812 DSP is responsible for analyzing and processing dada, and transmitting to the display. Data being received and processed by TMS320F2812 DSP will be directed to a chromatic liquid crystal and will be showed together with the "pictures posting beforehand" by the software; on the basis of need, it is easy and convenient to extend the content or style of displaying by software. CAN bus makes the system to act better in real time and accuracy, and by improving the security and stability the display system is more intelligent and humanoid. TMS320F2812 guarantees the rapidity of data processing, real time and convenience of communication design.This paper deals with the design idea of display system, anti-interference for software, power restart circuit, CAN communication interface circuit, data level circuit, YD711 chromatic liquid crystal display interface circuit, the define of parameters of hybrid vehicle, software programming, the method of designing dial chart, numerical chart, or power flow chart. Lastly, we discuss the method of experiment and the result.Experiment shows that this display system not only guarantees the data to be processed in real time , also can receive and show all the information of Hybrid Vehicle by dial chart, numerical chart, or power flow chart in time. The direction of the arrow in power flow chart changes as the engine operation changes.
