With the development of the modern communication techniques, satellite receiver has been widely used in many fields, such as satellite navigation, satellite television live broadcast and satellite digital broadcasting, etc. The antenna is the important part of the satellite receiver, its quality affects the receiver's quality and sensitivity directly.This dissertation focuses on the improvement of the axial ratio bandwidth and miniaturization technology of the microstrip antenna in portable satellite navigation receiver, the measurement of compact circular polarization antenna and the manufacture of a two-point feed microstrip antenna. The major works are as follows:Starting from the mechanism of obtaining the circular polarization through the n-point feed, the application of this technology can effectively improve the axial ratio bandwidth is demonstrated in theory and the realization method of the n-point feed is given. The miniaturization and broad bandwidth technologies are analyzed and summarized.In allusion to the characteristics of circular polarization antenna, a set of targets measurements of the antenna is summarized, the precision of the measurements is also analyzed. It has some guidance to the measurement of the compact circular polarization antenna.A whole design flow including the choice of the design scheme, the simulation, the debugging and the measurement, along with the principles and methods are given. On the small microstrip antenna, a feed network which provides two excitations in equal amplitudes, 90 degrees in phase offset for the patches to form the circular polarization through two probes is designed and manufactured. The experiences through the design, manufacture and debugging are also given.This dissertation is carried out fully considering the engineering application. The research result can be used in a certain model satellite navigation receiver.
