Assembly which is the last step of manufacturing process, is the major process of realize the product's function. Assembly quality has an direct infection on product's capability. The assembly design based on 3D model is an important way to realize the product assembly design. After the parts configuration, the main task is to accomplish precision design, interference detection, sequence generation and so on. This paper laid a strong emphasis on the study of the three key techniques such as assembly precision distribution, assembly sequence planning and evaluation, the detailed contents are as follows:(1) The product assembly process faced to 3D model was summarized. During this process, the key t steps and its general technique program was extracted.(2) Non-directed graph was adopt to present the assembly-relation in the model, and the construction process for variational geometry constraints network was described. Further, the generating flow of computer-aided assembly dimension chain was constructed. Consider to the randomicity and illegibility of design variables, the fuzzy distribution algorithm for assembly precision was presented.(3) The assembly-relation model was introduced to describe the mating-relation between the function surface of the parts, and the associate matrix which express assembly'relativity. Moreover, the subassembly detection method based on associate intensity was constructed. The assembly sequence planning based on topological decked ordering was also gained.(4) Considering performance factors, evaluating indicator was brought forward. Further, on the foundation of the analysis of information entropy, weighting analysis method was introduced. Besides, the evaluation algorithm for assembly sequence planning is established.(5) Based on above research findings, the general design for computer-aided assembly design was developed. In addition, the settle scheme was supplied with development. Taking the assembly design for handler flat stacking framework as an example, in this paper, the solves scheme for assemble key technique faced to 3D model was analyzed and validated. As a result, its feasibility and validity was implemented.
