With the integration of the world economy, the trade between our country and other nations grows quickly, and the bulk throughput keep a high velocity increase, which gives a newer and higher requirement of the loading-and-unloading techniques of the bulk terminal. The layout and management of the bulk terminal faces tremendous challenge. How to use the limited area and establishment of the terminal to efficiently accomplish the bulk's loading and unloading has been a momentous task to the erectors and the governors of the terminal.Contra posed to optimization in dock design and running and based on the research of all kinds of coal terminals, the article applies the method of system analysis to bring forward a dock model of real time simulation which based on dock structure art and develops a universal simulation system. Hoping that this system can assistant the design and running of the dock.Firstly the article depicts the developing trend of dock construction in the influence of world commerce and high developing speed of ship, summing up analysis modeling methodology and appliance of simulation system which has already exist, and then points out some defect. Then the article analysis the main characteristic of the import coal terminals.Secondly, this paper puts forward the basic consideration about terminal simulation by inducting time parameter to coal terminal model on the base of Petri Net theory. And on the base of these, studies the dynamic characteristic of coal terminals.Thirdly, this paper sets up simulation model about coal terminal on the base of logistic system simulation software Witness. And studies the modeling technique of coal terminal..Finally, this paper makes a simulation experiment on the base of logistic system simulation software Witness. According to the simulation experiment, studies pile-up strategies of coal terminals and offer the improvement strategy.
