Production Systems Based On Petri Net Modeling And Simulation

With the economic globalization, the competitions of manufacturers have become more and more fierce. Enterprises not only need to ensure that products meet customer needs, but also need to reduce production's costs continusly. These are to enhance the viability of enterprises. One of the effective ways to reduce the production's costs is to make the manufacturing system operate in high efficiency. The issues of concern to enterprist are how to increase equipment utilization and decrease work in process. Under this situation, how to optimize production systems has become very important. Application of computer simulation technology to achieve these goals is an effective way.Motorcycle manufactur is a typical discrete event system. With the competitions among the manufacturing sector have become more and more intense, the study of how to improve the performance of enterprise production system has more profound significance. In this paper, modeling and analysis the actual production process base on the use of extended Petri net. Build the Chongqing construction motorcycle assembly line simulation and analysis of actual production by using Witness 2007 simulation software; provide decision-making suggestions for the optimization of manufacturing system.In the first, this paper introduces the simulation of discrete event systems theory and modeling methods, analysis superiority of modeling discrete manufacturing system by using Petri net. Second, establish the corresponding Petri net model and analysis the production systems and process by using Petri net. Then introduce the Witness simulation software, analysis the methods of the Witness models and Petri net models'transformation. In the last of this paper, based on the deeply research of Chongqing construction vehicle assembly production line, build the simulation model by using Witness simulation software, got the machine utilization, work in process and make recommendations for improvement.
