Coal transportation in China has formed into the "West to East","North to South"and "Sea-railway Multimodality" transportation patterns, which make coal wharf animportant resource. However, the port managers paid more attention on optimizingloading efficiency and number of berth and ignored the management of storage yard.Based on the typical logistic systems in China, this thesis is targeted by optimizing thethrough capacity of storage yard. It also constructs the simulation models according tothe actual situation in Cao Feidian Port. Then by the results it analysis the key factors andoptimizes the through capacity of storage yard.Firstly, analysis of the current situations in coal transportation about Chinese, andconsider that the coal market of china in the future for a long time will exist a largedemand. Ports, as a key in transportation, play a more and more important role. It alsofound some main problems in the storage yard of coal terminals,for the storage yardthrough capacity to counduct its analysis of relevant factors, and in the subsequentrelevant sections of the thesis proposed the measure to this questions.Secondly, the paper on the basis of relevant theories and logistic system establishesthe Petri nets system, getting a deeper understanding in logistic system,as the basis forthe establishment of the simulation model, and lying foundation for the followingpassage.Lastly, the research is focus on cargo handing technology, operation procedure,design of storage yard, storage category and so on. The simulation models are establishedby the research figures and get the result, which helps the discovery of the key factorsinfluencing port capability. By changing the variable parameter, it is found the schemesin optimizing port capability and adapting to storage yard facility and availability. Thischapter also proposes some suggestive advice to simulation results.
