There are two main kinds of port container cranes: the bridge crane and the brachial crane. The bridge crane has high working efficiency and large working range but high cost, while the brachial cranes are in the opposite way. The brachia-bridge crane has obvious superiority with high efficiency, large working range and low cost which are the advantages of both bridge crane and brachia crane. The briachial-bridge luffing mechanism and curve slideway live control weight gravity balance system are the core technology. The result of system design affects the mechanism performance directly. Design the briachial-bridge luffing mechanism and curve slideway live control weight gravity balance system by traditional modeling and optimizing or charting may cause some disadvantages. For example, the points optimized may be some distance away from the actual points or slow in designing. So it's necessary to design the briachial-bridge luffing mechanism and curve slideway live control weight gravity balance system in a new way. This paper design the parameters using the prevalent software VB6.0, a kind of event -driven programming language which used to explode environment. Using VB6.0 to find practical briachial-bridge luffing mechanism and curve slideway live control weight gravity balance system rules and method.Taking newly briachial-bridge port container crane as the studying object, this paper establish the math model of gravity level fall by studying luffing mechanism of combined compensating pulley system, besides it analyses the main factors which affect the goods plane characteristics and their prominence. This paper also discusses the changeable trend and rules of goods plane characteristics, study the effect of point location in compensate system to compensate impact as well. Taking the math model, practicability and curve slideway live control weight gravity balance system into consideration, VB6.0 is used to design parameters. Users can use the flexible inspection programs to repeat the design and inspection. There are three achievements in this paper: (1) Bring forward a method to design horizon displacement compensating system.(2) Bring forward the methods and rules to design live control weight gravity balance system and deduce the theory key to y=f(x) and its actual curve.(3) Explode the relevant software to do briachial-bridge port container crane collectivity design.
