With rising of the price of international petroleum, the demand and consume of oil is paid more attention by the different fields, so how to improve of oil effective rate be paid more attention in domestic and international extensively. At present, the diesel engine has already been applied to each field of national economy. So, in order to economize the energy, reduce pollution and improve production efficiency, every industrially developed country attaches great importance to the research work that the diesel engine burns. Economizing the energy, reducing energy consumption, the target is to reduce the consuming rate of the fuel on the diesel engine, improve combustion efficiency, reduce discharge and cost, raise production efficiency, which needs the strong support of burn analyzing on diesel engine.The shipping diesel engine structure is complicated and the condition of work is bad, which make it break down frequently. In other place the detection procedure is complicated, and the quantity of work is large. If it does not repair and safeguard accurately in time, the voyage accident will happen and cause personnel's property loss and marine pollute. In recent years, with the constant improvement of the automatic detection technique, pattern processing and development of the intellectual detection technique, domestic and international apply the new technology, new method to the traditional diesel engine fault diagnose. So from this view point combining the air cylinder pressure with the advanced information treatment technology remains an important direction studied on the diesel engine fault diagnosing.This paper mainly research on the power-indicating chart, complied the recognition technology of traditional power-indicating chart with data acquisition, pattern recognition and expert system, to realize the automatic diagnose and indicator the diesel engine from the power-indicating chart .The research of the whole system will promote the indicator diagram fault of the diesel engine to diagnose that technology will be developed in automation , intelligent direction, improve the modernized level of management of the marine engine . The main content of this article is as follows:(1) Studying the power-indicating chart in principle of analyzing the diesel engine to work in performance and operation conditions, working performance of probing into shipping diesel engine and operating the state characteristic and relevant parameter. Combining the acquisition that the diesel engine monitors the signal, analyzing with the abstraction of the characteristic parameter, store and show;(2)Through the research of the automatic recognition technology, the power-indicating chart recognition that the course is combined to draw it with traditional, probe into recognition technology of the chart to discern the useful information in the chart automatically, realize the automatic recognition of rival's drawing type characteristic parameter of indicator chart;(3) Studying the basic principle and request of the expert system combining with the real state of this paper, we will confirm the fault type of research in this system , and its form of expression and treatment method, set up the indicator diagram faults of diesel engine and diagnose the expert system;(4) Combining the knowledge of the database with programming technology, which develop the platform of the diesel engine indicator diagram fault diagnosed using the expert system, this platform can realize to historical data save and calculate, it can combine sensor technology acquisitive online, and the drawing of the indicator diagram, characteristic parameter are calculated etc.; At last we will set up expert system, discern and fault diagnose experts.
