Digital Design Of The Car Interior Based On Ergonomics

It has been considered that the digital engineering for car will be the inevitable trends. It has been successfully used in automobile industry in China. However, using ergonomics theory in digital automobile design is in the elementary stage. The ergonomics is most used in the later stage of evaluation, but only a little in the design process. Thus, it is worth studying the subject how to combine the ergonomics with the digital design process in existing software platform. It has great theoretical value and realistic significance on promoting the development of automobile industry and having our own designing and property right.CATIA software is adopted in this study. The realization of using ergonomics the digital design for car interior is studied. First of all, the digital models of the car body the panel and the seat is set up. Then, the ergonomics of the car interior is studied, and the combine of the ergonomics theory and the car interior design in CATIA is realized. In the design of seat, the theory of H-point orientation is used to fix the position of the seat digital model while the theory of comfort sit posture is used to analysis the comfort of the seat in CATIA. The optimization design is presented based on CATIA. In the design of dashboard, the eye-ellipse and reachable area is used to research the design of the field of vision and the operation performance, then a better method based on CATIA is presented. In the design of interior space, the enveloping curve of head is used to research the design of interior space in CATIA , a new concept of space surface is presented for the design of the interior space.In this thesis, a systemic study is made using ergonomics to realize the design of the car interior based on CATIA, and all the process both for design and evaluation is very intuitionistic and convenient. This study is significant on promoting the digital design for car interior in China. It plays a significant role in promoting the digital design for car interior in China, and also very important to make use of the ergonomics in the early design stage,and improve the efficiency and reduce the cost of the product development.
