Protection The Harmful Effects From Harmonics Of The Power Supply System In The Communication Station

Along with the fast development of the communications, the electric power consumption is growing fast. The amount and the proportion of the nonlinear loads in communication equipments, such as UPS, switching power supply devices, are increasing rapidly. One of the harmful effects brought by the nonlinear loads is the increase of the power harmonics in the power distribution systems and the decrease of the electric power quality. As the results, the power harmonic pollution would propagate to whole power supply system, and also bring trouble to communication power system and the dependability of the communication system. How to control power harmonics efficiency and how to renovate actual power room in the communication station seem to be more urgent than before.The paper presents an overall study of the communication power system in order to find out the power harmonics produced by the power supply equipment. Then, according to the principle of producing power harmonics, the paper analyses detailedly the character of power harmonics produced by the power equipment, and the harmful effects from the power harmonics to communication power distribution system, power equipment, load, power relay protection equipment and signal measurement.Based on the theoretical methods of control power harmonics, according to the actual situation of power supply distribution net and power room in the communication station, the paper discusses the security of communication power system adequately, and tests the input and output data of the power equipment such as switching power system, UPS and the air-conditioner in communication station detailedly in order to find out the relationship of the harmful effects between the power harmonics in the power supply distribution net and communication system. Since the multitudinous resources of the power harmonics in communication system, the test and analysis become very complicated. The paper proposes the key points of controlling power harmonics scientifically according to the independent power harmonics testing and analyzing data resources.The paper finds out some actual referenced valued conclusions through analyzing the testing data scientifically and factually. This paper presents the methods for reforming the harmonics in the power supply distribution systems and the key points of controlling power harmonics at UPS input, switching power system input and the application of active power filters based on the actual situation of power supply distribution net and power room in the communication station.
