The Research Of ITS-based Vehicle Navigation Terminal

ITS (Intelligence Traffic System) is suggested in order to resolve the gradually austere traffic problem. Terminal on the vehicle is one of the core module of the ITS. It is also the most direct means of vehicle user participates in ITS. The terminal on vehicle allocated GIS navigation system can provide friendly operation interface and convenient navigation information for the vehicle user. It is also the most effective information collection source and information receiver of the ITS public information platform, making ITS public information platform can carry out effective and unified management and analysis on information.This thesis made an introduction to the ITS basic concept, present situation, ITS vehicle navigation terminal' s important position in the ITS and its present situation. And we discussed those important technologies that would be used in the design of the ITS vehicle navigation terminal, such as embedded GIS, GPS, GPRS and RDS-TMC, etc.This thesis is focused on the design and demonstration of one of the scheme of the IVNT, and gives a part of the realization. We compared and made choices on software and hardware platform of IVNT, and we also built the cross development environment. We gave out the system design of this scheme and detail design of some modules. We discussed the design of the IVNT electron map data base in this scheme. And we made the realization of applications when data of the map was based on file format. At last, we discussed the key function modules in the scheme, which include: route planning, map matching and route guiding, etc. And we presented a enhanced algorithm of the route planning.
