With the development of our industry, environmental pollution is becoming seriously. The department of environmental protection is attaching great importance on the environmental detection. The advanced of the detective equipment is the important factor of improving monitor level. COD is one of the important parameter for evaluated the degree of water pollution, so the online monitor instrument of COD has great value in the monitor application of water quality. Currently, there are all kinds of monitor instrument of COD in home and abroad, meanwhile they have different principle of detection. The precision of foreign product is higher, however, the price is relatively expensive and making against generalize in our country. So the emphasis of research is that the low of cost and adaptable online monitor instrument of COD.With the fast developing of computer technology, the embedded system can be found everywhere. The developing of instrument takes advantage of embedded technology, such as low power dissipation, low cost, miniaturization, the ability of real time data processor, the function of net interlinkage, intelligent software, excellent extend performance and so on.Three aspect are needed to consider for developing online monitor instrument of COD:1,The selecting principle of detection for COD. There are many detection principle in which the traditional detection doesn't adapt the application of online monitor. In this paper, choosing a new method of electrochemical detection by comparing many detection principle.2,The design of hardware system in the instrument of COD. Periphery elements are selected and circuit is designed based on microcontroller and required function of instrument of COD.3,The design of embedded software system in the instrument of COD. Firstly, a kind of embedded operating system is selected. Secondly, it is transplanted into the microcontroller. Then develop application software based on the hardware and embedded operating system.μC/OS-II embedded operating system and LPC2210 microcontroller based on ARM7 are used to develop the online monitor instrument of embedded COD in this paper. Through researching systemic structure and development flow of ARM7 processor, this paper elaborate the embedded hardware system that it is own-design in the light of applied requirement based on LPC2210 microcontroller of ARM7 core, this embedded hardware system carries out high performance . It make full use of the strong function of ARM7 processor. In the aspect of software, this paper discuss advantages and basic characteristic of embedded real-time operating systemμC/OS-II, at the same time, analyze required condition that is transplanted into the platform of hardware, furthermore, the process of application program developing is introduced.In this paper, low power dissipation and miniaturization as well as the requirement of fast online detection is completed. It has potential social and economic benefits, so it brings important efforts on environmental detection in our country.
