| Recently, rapidly growing country economy gives the traditional manufacturing industries many opportunities and challenges. For accommodating this situation, Chinese government brought forward a strategy of reforming traditional manufacturing with information technologies. Meanwhile with the development of computer technologies and many project supporting softwares, such as CAXA and ERP management system, more and more domestic manufacturing enterprises use these softwares to help the production and management of enterprise for adapting the impetuously competition. So in this circumstance author takes Wu Xi Tan Kuang Limited Company in Jiang Su province for example, and researchs the product structure management of traditional manufacturing industries.First this thesis reviews the development and research status of PSM genarally, then narrates the related knowledge of PSM, and analyzes the importance of the PSM's execution in enterprises according to the situation of Wu Xi Tan Kuang Limited Company in Jiang Su provice. Then author builds up the software system's global framework based on the enterprise's requriement, meanwhile all the models and system's database are founded using PowerDesigner software which is a tool for found the models. After this the thesis focuses on introducing the technologies used in designing system's models. Finally the kernels and the procedures of executing PSM software system are put forward in this thesis.This software system is built based on the three-tier C/S framework by using C++Builder as the software designing tool, and using SQLServer2000 as the database management system, invoking the advanced STL (Standard Template Library) technology, absorbing the rational management method used in the enterprise now, presenting the copy, paste, borrow tree node technology of product structure tree in PSM, and designing effective implement arithmetices. All of these can improve the enterpriser's management level greatly.
