| With the rapid development of Chinese urbanization, the cities and towns in China are present ever-changing new appearances. But, the traditional settlements are dying away at the same time, so how to protect and conserve these traditional heritages is becoming a quite important subject. This paper takes the ancient Shanggantang village for an example, which is located in JiangYong county of Yong Zhou city in Hunan province. This thesis mainly discussed the protection principles and methods for conservation of tradition villages, trying to sort out a set of protection means available for traditional settlements.Based on documents, site investigation, surveying and drawing, scientific analyses of quantitative and qualitative are carried out into this research. Beginning with example studies, the research developed from three aspects, including researches of natural environment space, artificial material space, spiritual and cultural space. Finally, a conservation planning is figured out. A series of countermeasures are concluded at several levels to protect the traditional settlements:(1)Protection countermeasures abiding by three fundamental ideas and two protection principles;(2)Protection countermeasures to natural environment space system;(3) Protection countermeasures to artificial material space system;(4) Protection countermeasures to the spirit, culture space system;(5) Protection countermeasures to tourism development.According to above countermeasures, it will be helped for designers and managers to make scientific decisions, so as to definite the means available of conservation and redevelopment for the traditional settlements, which can improve better living environments for residents there and make sure the traditional villages can sustainable develop. |
