Study On Modified Asphalt Pavement Evenness Control Technology Of Zheng-Shao Expressway

Pavement evenness is one of the most important indicators in evaluating road pavement performance and can directly affect vehicles basic moving functions on the roads and expressways. Therefore improvements and enhancements of pavement evenness have been a key technology during asphalt pavement construction and mostly concerned by highway researchers. Although there has been a lot of literature about the asphalt pavement evenness and currently pavement construction mechanization degree, construction technology and quality requirements are better than before, sometimes pavement evenness is still unsatisfactory. This will affect the driving safety and comfort, Especially in recent years, modified asphalt has been adopted in upper surface layer and intermediate surface layer in expressway; therefore, it is necessary to analyze the factors affecting pavement evenness and to put forward some enhancing and controlling measures.In this paper, factors affecting asphalt pavement evenness has been analyzed. According to Zhen-Shao expressway, some main construction components and quality controls have been studied to ensure its pavement evenness.In this paper, SBS modification process, SBS modified bitumen temperature control, field construction technology and modified asphalt cost analysis have been put forward for Zhen-Shao expressway. Various factors of subgrade, bridges, culverts, subbase and base, materials, pavement construction machinery, construction technology and so on have been analyzed how to affect pavement evenness. At the end, pavement quality control techniques have been got to ensure its evenness, at the same time construction civilization is improved. By changing wrong ideal of " building is important than maintenance", expressway maintenance and road management have been strengthened. So pavement evenness can be maintained in a long-term stabile satisfaction level.According to the peculiarity of Zheng-Shaohe highway construction projects and its project construction organization principles, project construction management has come into being. The work duties of every major management institutions and mainly responsible person have been made. So modified asphalt pavement evenness can be ensured in the required scale.It is shown by the results of modified asphalt pavement evenness that reasonable modified asphalt pavement construction technology and quality control methods can ensure its evenness in strict requirements, even better than the specifications requirements. Therefore, through modified asphalt pavement quality technology of Zheng-Shao expressway, the evenness of upper surface layer, intermediate surface layer and lower surface layer can be improved effectively and the comfort can be increased also.
