There is lots of research about the quality control of asphalt pavement at home and abroad. In this paper, the method of quality control for engineering has been put forward, based on the investigation of previous asphalt pavement actuality in China, and the problems such as materials problems of asphalt pavement, irrational design, surface poor level off, misgovernment of construction, water damage, et. Many aspects for engineering practice which may result in quality problems of asphalt pavement are considered as well, which include four sides: materials for asphalt pavement including asphalt, filling, asphalt mixture, et; structure design for asphalt pavement; the spot construct of asphalt pavement; and the water damage. The conclusion is drawn as follows:(1) Pavement materials is the foundation to conform the quality of asphalt pavement, therefore every pavement materials should be controlled strictly. At the same time, scientific method should be utilized to optimize the mix grade of asphalt mixture.(2) Pavement structure is the key to conform the service life of asphalt pavement. In this paper, according to the practical traffic volume, an new method is put forward and the previous structure design is optimized. The results of optimal structure show that the design life of asphalt pavement structure increases 6 years, and the compress strain is 10 times lower than before.(3) Construction can ensure the quality of asphalt pavement. In this paper, the method for construct device, construct arts and construct management of construction quality control at spot is advanced.(4) Water is one of important factor for earlier damages of asphalt pavement. According to the water damage mechanism, the prevention measures are provided in the paper, and the drain design is optimized in the engineering example.
