Application Of Landscape Plants In Artificial Green Land In Enshi City

Enshi is a small city located in the southwest of Hubei province. Its landscape work was at the very beginning. Carried out a foundational research regarding the application of landscape plants would play an important role in late work.This paper investigated the current situation of landscape plants application in artificial green land in Enshi city. Accorded to the research, the paper mainly discussed the landscape plants' species diversity, landscape diversity; ecological configuration, landscape configuration, plants' adaptability and function. The results showed: (1) the landscape plants used included 32 families, 39 genera, and more than 40 species; (2) most of the landscape plants were for flower-seeing in spring, while a few of them were for leaf-seeing, fruit-seeing and stem-seeing plants were fewer; (3) of the landscape plants beside the roads, there were much more trees and heliophilic plants than bushes, herbs and shade-tolerent plants or intermediate light-demanding plants; (4) there were just a few seasonal plants, and vines and herbs were fewer, deciduous trees were more than every-green trees, there were many broad-leaf trees, while conifers were relatively fewer; (5) most of the landscape plants had adapted to Enshi's environment, while some had a bad adaptability; (6) the landscape plants did well in protecting ecological environment, but had a low sight-seeing value.Accorded to the results of the research, for a better landscape in the future, the following issues should be done: (1) Do a better planning and deal with the relationship between ecology and landscape benefits; (2) Keep the stability of floras, and pay attention to plants' species diversity; (3) Plant trees in appropriate place to pop out Enshi's regional feature.; (4) Develop local sapling stringing and deal with the relationship between the application of local plants and imported plants correctly; (5) Show the superiority of suburbs and its circle area. Plant every kinds of nursery and cultivate high quality sapling.The research will provide not only a scientific foundation for a rational planning of landscape plants in Enshi, but also a reference for forming a better landscape system. Therefore, the study has both theoretic and practical meaning in the improvement of Enshi's ecology circumstance and the creation of a beautiful and comfortable city which has a sustainable development.
