Grab Bucket Ship Unloader (GBSU) is one of the large scale port logistic equipments. Ithas played an important role in bulk material logistics. With the development of bothhardware and software in the areas of computer technology, modern mechanics andcalculating mathematics, FEM analysis has a great progress on FEM theories as well as itsapplication. FEM has become one of the most popular and efficient numerical analysismethods in engineering structure analysis.Nowadays, FEM has been widely applied to structure analysis in design of GBSU.However, users of FEM software are required to master professional knowledge with a lot oftime spent on creating and modifying FEA models when applying this software to design andcalculate GBSU structure. In this paper, a template analysis method is presented based onparameterized that can be adjusted the FEM model by parameters. In order to enhanceanalyzing efficiency, an inventory parameter-adjusting interface has been developed on thebasis of Visual Basic, by which launching and packaging FEM software-ANSYS are realized.This paper covers a batch plate local stability checking method in parameterized designsoftware. This article is based on cooperative item between Dalian University Of Technologyand DHI.DCW Group co., LTD.In this paper, a program achievement method of parameterized structure deign of GBSUis introduced in detail. This paper consists of six chapters. In chapter one, the authorintroduces and analyzes the research status as well as the existing methods in this field, andresents the purpose and significance of conducting the research. Then it is discussed thatdesign method and structure characteristics of GBSU in chapter two. In chapter three, theauthor introduces traits of FEM software-ANSYS, ANSYS parametric design language(APDL), and defines the process and functions of parameterized template of GBSU based onVisual Basic. In chapter four, according to calculating cases in design rules for cranes thebasic, the strength and stiffness checking is carried out by the idea of parameterized design. Abatch plate local stability checking of GBSU are carried out in post-process. In chapter five,data from real GBSU, are applied in the program to validate its feasibility and practicability.And the last chapter, the author summarizes the whole paper and establishes a further visionon the solution to existing problems.
