Along with the reforming and opening-up policy, the rapid development of economy, the construction of highway entered a period of high-speed development. In the progress of highway's construction and using, it appears various diseases and damages which cause its function degenerated, service life abbreviated, and even interrupt the traffic badly. So it is necessary to work on highway disaster preventing and decreasing.The system of the highway engineering geology disaster early warning and diagnosis is a kind of systematic engineering which including forecast, examine, evaluates, protecting, etc. It needs the cooperation of multidepartment and multidisciplinary, and constitutes a very complicated interaction system among transportation-resources-environment-disaster and nature-society. This brings tremendous difficulty in disaster early warning and diagnosis, and also the new challenges and opportunities in this respect.The grid technique is a newly rising information technique attracts a good deal of attention. It can accomplish resource sharing of forecast, examine, evaluates, protecting and manage in the highway engineering geology disaster early warning and diagnosis system, and form a basic disaster evaluating instrument, which has the capability of demanding by need, strong disease data management and the information integrations handle.Based on summarizing the critical technology and method of highway engineering disaster preventing and decreasing, combined with the knowledge of grid and grid architecture, the paper formed the concept of grid and grid architecture in highway engineering disaster preventing and decreasing. With the characters of construction and geographic disasters in highway engineering, we form the highway engineering disaster preventing and decreasing grid system. We also studied the highway engineering geographic disaster evaluating system carefully, searched for the application of gird technology in the highway engineering geologic hazard EW and Diagnosis. This paper has established roadbed and pavement disease GIS management system on southhalf of Yeji to the Luoshan highway in Henan Province; the Chinese highway engineering geology disaster early warning and diagnosis grid technology system was initially established.The research of this paper will take upholstery for the application of the grid technology in the highway engineering; it will become an important part of the future intelligence transportation.
