Power Station Automation Transformation

For a long period of time, automation in the electric power industry is very low in our country, which can hardly satisfy the demand of high quality electric power. To improve the quality and efficiency of electric power, we need to upgrade the traditional mode which is the manual based to a new mode which is based on the computer monitoring and controlling system. A detailed introduction is presented in this paper about PLC in automation control system of hydropower station, data collecting , transferring, monitoring, controlling and management. The paper is made up of several chapters and sections and a brief description is given as follows:Chapter 1 presents the significance and the trends of automation control system of hydropower station, also the current status and trends in Industrial Automation.Chapter 2 introduces technical process, the system designing theory and the choosing of automatic products to build the whole system.Chapter 3 makes a detailed explanation of the design of the whole system in terms of hardware.Chapter 4 introduces the design of communication networks.Chapter 5 makes a detailed explanation of the control system planning.Chapter 6 gives a bief introduction of the data collecting and handling system.In the ending section, a conclusion is made on the research and the technology of this control system.
