The direct start of the induction motor can generate several-fold rating current, whichwill contaminate the power supply system and damage the motor itself. To improve theparameter in start of motor, a voltage adjusting model with SCR is used. Base on the goodcharacteristic of SCR, A prototype of general purpose three-phase motor Energy-savingstarter based on DSP-TMS320LF2407A is designed and tested.When an asynchronous motor run on light-loading, the power lose increases, theefficiency and power factors both greatly reduce, therefore it waste more power. It is analyzedin the paper which influence the power lose, a method of saving energy according to reducethe phase voltage is designed and the effect is validated going with several experiments.The 3-phase regulating circuit of asynchronous motor system is analyzed and simulatedby MATLAB. The results of the simulation show that the system based on the 3-phaseregulating circuit can reduce the high starting current as asynchronous motors start up directly.This article also introduces the working principle of the SCR adjusting voltage circuit and thestarter's main circuit,the hardware structure and functions of the soft starter and thesoftware program design.The 3-phase Energy-saving starter for asynchronous motor are made up of two systemswhich are based TMS320LF2407A and 89S52 respectively. It has a good characteristic, anice interface and convenient operations. This paper also proposes the hardware and softwaredesign scheme, and correlative waveforms of experiment results. It is proved by theexperiment, the energy-saving starter has good characteristic of control.
