The Research On Key Techniques Of Virtual Assembly And The Realization Of Its Animation For Diesel Engine

Assembly is one of the key parts in the process of design and investigation of the products. Virtual Assembly has taken more use than ever, which can shorten the research & development circle, improve the quality of the design, reduce the cost of investigation, and accelerate the design innovation. Virtual Assembly actually simulates the whole process of the products' assembly, which based on the characteristic of the shape and precision of products, and then actualizes the technics programming, manufacture, assembly and debugging of products. It can also allow the user with a man-computer interactive manner simulates the process of the assembly actually in three-dimensional environment to check up the assembling-possibility of products.This paper takes 4102B# diesel engine as research object. It builds the assembly models by Pro/Engineer and makes virtual assembly by Autodesk Inventor from information of basis parts, realizes the assembly system of diesel engine. The whole process includes four modules: basis models building, assembly models building, assembly process planning and realization of virtual assembly animation. This paper not only puts forward the research thought which faces to assembly, but also analyses the relation among the modules and then modulars the research process. And in the end, it builds simple virtual assembly animation management system with VC and display system with Flash to achieve subsequent treating.This item has completed the modeling of 4102B# diesel engine, planned the sequence and path of assembly models, and then generated the animations of assembly. It also developed simple management system and display system of virtual assembly, can be used to display the products of diesel engine and make the ship-fitter know how the products are assembled.
