Study Of The Eco-oriented Urban General Layout

Urban general layout is an important content of master plan. It forms the basic for the long-term development of a city. Contents of the urban general layout include urban structure, urban layout, urban morphology and functional districts. Eco-oriented urban general layout theory is the combination of urban ecology theory and urban planning theory. It is a concrete space planning method that is used for achieving the nature and city's consistence. The study of eco-oriented urban general layout is urgent, valuable and practical during the fast urbanization period of China.In this paper, we first summarized the developing process of eco-oriented urban general layout, and introduced a new concept which is the urban compound ecological model is a kind of urban general layout model that suits current eco-city set up and conducts urban ecological planning. This part forms the basic theory of our topic. Then we discussed the basic theory of eco-oriented urban general layout, we studied the following two theory systems: the urban general layout theories and the urban ecology construction theories. The contents discussed in this part determine the theoretical scopes and basic principals of the eco-oriented urban general layout system. Next come to the main part of our theoretical study. In this part, by studying the general methods of the eco-oriented urban general layout, we tried to develop a mechanism for eco-oriented urban general layout planning. Our study here consists of the following eight aspects: the investigation and evaluation of current ecological status, the edge controlling of space development; the distinct controlling of space exploiture; the network optimization of ecological space, the ecological selection of structure morphology, the ecological optimization of functional arrangement, the ecological consistence of road system; and the ecological adjustment of industry arrangement. Lastly, we took the example of Hefei city as the complementary of our theoretical study. Ecological optimization strategies and application mechanisms are proposed for Hefei city's urban general layout.
