This project has designed protection relay in power distribution automated system, it based on the fast response direction comparison protection relay principium, this protection relay can operate quickly to isolate fault, it has high reliability, it can cooperate with the power distribution substation, and fit with the relay for the whole power distribution line. We use optical fiber to transmit data. The protection relay channel and the control channel are separated, they are integrity and reliable. This project has made one kind of novel exploration to the protection relay aspect in power distribution automated system, achieved the prime task is as follows: We have designed the new FTU device according to the fast response direction comparison protection relay principium, it can operate to isolate fault speedily, choicely, sensitively and reliably. It is an independent and completed protection relay.Rapidity and selectivity: When communication is normal, it can isolate faults choicely and speedily, the communication response time is below 1ms, it is easy to maintain, and it can avoid electromagnetic interference. Reliability: When the communication is loss, it can isolate the fault normally, and it has the completed backup protection relay. Sensitivity: Carries on the computation to the partition protection setting value, the system may achieve under smallest operation way, the protection relay operating sensitivity can reach above. It has independent system restructuring. FTU can restructure the damaging system speedily, reliably and independently. When the communication is normal, it can complete the system restructuring accurately and rapidly, the response time is in 0.5s. If the communication is loss, it can restructure the system completely, and restore the power transmission safely. We have designed new power distribution stations, the protection relay devices and FTU of the transformer substation are connected with them, constituted integrated protection relay system for power distribution line. We have designed the reliable communication channel. In order to operate it fast, control and monitor in distances, we use the optical fiber channel, it can avoid electromagnetic interference, it can bear the thunder stroke, lightning surge, prevent the induced tension puncture and the error code.
