This paper introduces the domestic and overseas research background and the develop trend of dynamic testing of small arms. The virtual instrumentation based on VXI bus is successfully introduces for dynamic testing of small arms. It presents a useful way and technique approach for building the intelligent dynamic testing of small arms. Then it puts forward the requirement according to the specialty of the dynamic testing of small arms, and presents a completely scheme of hardware. Analyzes the structure of Model 89 12.7mm machine gun in detail. Using the theories of classical interior ballistics, weapon gas dynamics, automation weapon dynamics and mufti-degree rigid-body dynamics, the motion are analyzed in detail and the 3D mathematics model of this machine gun is built up. On the basis of mathematics model, use the software Matlab, the dynamic simulation of the 12.7mm gun is developed. Get the characteristic of the motion of the machine gun. In order to show the interior process and the motion of the machine gun directly, the results are shown as tables or curves. At last, designed the man-machine interactive interface, used the software LabVIEW 8.2 of virtual instrumentation.
