The Disquisition On The Design Of Residential Model With Small And Medium Size In Tongji New Village

Residence is essential for the livelihood of the people, and housing construction of China is developing along with the entire national economy. As urbanization process is speeding up, how reasonable adjustment in the housing structure and the development of small and medium-sized model assembling dwelling in the city is now widespread concern and research of the hot issues.The Tongji New Village is selected as the object of this paper. With reference to the standard of historical time division in "China Architectural History", the paper takes in-depth analysis of the design of residential model in Tongji New Village according to six of the historical time respectively. The main focus of the paper is on the analysis of factors which affect the residential model design and characteristics of the development and changes in residential model plane under the historical and technological conditions of that time.The paper uses the existing residential model in Tongji New Village as basic data to analyze and summarize, including quantitative analysis and comparison for different residential model related data; summary of composition pattern for basic function area such as bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet and store room etc; advantage and disadvantage of the design for small and medium-sized residential dwelling, specially the model after 1980s..Finally, composition ways and types of function area in small and medium-sized residential dwelling are summarized, on top of which design principles are also concluded at the same time which is generally available to the small and medium-sized residential model.The study of developments and changes process in residential design shows that the characteristics of the model design and also exposes its deficiencies. The paper provides the reasonable suggestions on the possible development and trend of Tongji New Village in the future, at the same time, calls attention to adaptability and sustainability of small and medium-sized residential model design.
