Study On The Approach Of Ecological Function Area Planning In Small Scale

As one of the study area of ecological planning, ecological function area planning has a close relationship with ecological function regionali–zation also. But Ecological function area planning so far were focus on large scale object, which covers an area of 102-104 km2, even 106km2. As to small scale area, there is no effective approach. After studied the neigborhood concept in urban planning, and the application of neighborhood in ecology and landscape ecology, make an indefy of ecological neighborhoods and make it an approach of ecological function area planning.Neighborhood concept has been used in three aspects: ecological process study, ecological protection and reinstatement and landscape planning. Ecological neighborhoods is defined as the matrix and function core connected by strong interaction, it's bordered by urban throughway. There are 2 kind of function core:ecological function core and disturb core.Ecological neighborhoods could concentrate to the need of small mammal in urban, or people's series need. And it could be used in planning and management of the artificial/ecological urban landscape system, especially suitable for the urban landscape below 10km2. Ecological function space is the function unit in human environment with certain ecological function, which is the key of ecological neighborhoods planning.EXPO area of shanghai which located in the urban center and beside the Huangpu river, has a main land utilization of industry, which make the area has a fragmentary matrix, so this area is very important for the urban eco-system. To make an ecological neighborhood planning of this area, first, we identify the ecological function space by estimating a satellites'picture. Then investigate the ecological and physics environmental of the EXPO area, analysis the master plan of it, make a suitability anlysis of different land use type, ascertain the function core and then establish the ecological nabornhood. Finally, construct the ecological function space by suitability analysis and sensitivity units.
