Highway construction accelerated the progress of vehicle transportation dramatically. As a main facility, commercial truck is developing aimed at heavy loading, high speed, more comfortable, and luxury. In order to adapt the ever improved requirement of domestic heavy-duty trucks, truck manufacturers have put more and more weight on the comfort performance of their truck cabs. Comfort is a main performance index for modern vehicle. There are two main factors that cause vehicle vibration, one is the random exciting caused by road irregularities while the truck is running; another is the vibration exciting caused by engine assembly while working. In regard to the causations of vibration and its transfer routes, researchers have made great efforts to reduce as much as possible the impact of vibration on smoothness and comfort performance of a vehicle. Cab mount system acts an important role in isolating the vibration that transferred from chassis to cab. Therefore, to enhance the isolation ability of cab mount is a sufficient mean for improving the comfort performance of cab when vibrating. For the air springs compared with the other elastic parts have many dramatical advantages. The most of mainstream heavy-duty truck cab mount systems in abroad have adopted air springs as the elastic parts. How to design the air springs which are used in the cab mount systems so that vibration spreading from frame to cab can be availably isolated has become an important task of the vehicle design. In addition, it is also a key point for the improvement of cab mount system ability, that elastic parts match damping part nicely. In this paper, based on a lot of references about the cab mount system, the air spring used in cab mount system is deeply researched by the way of that computer virtual technique combines with test, and the ability of cab mount system which is formed by elastic parts and damping parts is also appraised.Combined with projects that the research development of cab mount system used in changing generation truck of a company, this paper studies air spring cab mount deeply in both theory and test. The paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter one Based on a lot of references, the history of cab at home and abroad, how to dispose the cab and the characteristics of elastic parts used in cab mount are summarized.Chapter two The way, and the theory and the contents of air spring tests are introduced. To get the characteristic curves about the air spring and the damping which matches the spring, the tests were done.Chapter three Using nonlinear finite element analysis software ABAQUS, the static characteristic FEA model of the diaphragm air spring is built. The rubber model and material parameters, the rate of change of the Rebar geometry peculiarities in the course of working, the gas-solid coupling between the gas elements and the rubber elements are deduced in detail by the finite element analysis before building the model of air spring. And the contact theory, the judge and converge of contact condition are analyzed. The ABAQUS/Standard is applying for computing the static characteristics of air spring. And the test results are compared with the FEA results to validate the FEA results correct or not.Chapter four The characteristics of the software of ADAMS were systematically introduced. Then the quarter mass model for the air spring cab mount was built in this software. After putting the characteristic curves of air spring and damping into the model, the excitation was put into it to appraise the system's ability.Chapter five The contents and the conclusions of article are summarized. Some advices are put forward for the later study.
