Human beings have to self-reflect the behavior mode regarding industrial civilization, due to the resource emergency and ecosystem crisis, and need to seek a way for sustainable development in respects of society, economy, technique and environment. For instance, generally speaking, the construction energy expenditure, which means the consumed energy to build, occupies 30%~45% of the total social energy expenditure. Moreover the percentage is getting bigger and bigger along with the continuous development in social economy and residents' living conditions. As a result, construction energy conservation turns to be one of the most outstanding research topics, no matter in developed western countries or in developing China, guiding great changes toward architecture technique, products, and organization. This paper studies reasonable energy efficiency design and various methods for efficient use in inhabitant architecture. While providing comfortable living condition or working condition, would try best to reduce common energy consumption or environmental pollution to achieve the perfect synthetic energy efficiency effect. It put forwards that architecture energy efficiency should satisfy the reality demands such as hot-in-summer & cold-in-winter region, considering the climate's diversity and instability, thus integrate the energy efficiency idea and specific method into the whole design. The writer reviews history of energy efficiency architecture in and abroad, combing his experience in the field, and then deliver a conclusion of "positioning" in architecture energy efficiency design to aim at hot-in-summer & cold-in-winter fact. He also suggests optimization in respects of planning, figure, room and enclosure, resulted from several successful cases. Additionally the writer also shares his discoveries and comprehensions.
